lmbo, stop yer killin me. :D Even ass kissers need to have a good reason to be granted higher permissions, and the ability to use the tools. I made it very clear I had no such desires.

These higher permissions you keep harping about aren't a reward, they're a neccessary tool you need to have in order to accomplish certain tasks in the Directory that you couldn't accomplish without them.

Water rises to its own level, I was quite satisfied with the editing permissions that I had, and for people who aspired to higher levels, more power to em.

I don't know why you think being a top dog is so desireable. My limited experience tells me it ain't all it's cracked up to be. Jeez, everybody wants to be Boss Hog. I really think it's an egocentric goal, and people would be a lot happier just going for a level of permissions that they're comfortable at, and enjoying themselves. ;)

Believe it or not, but I've always thought it was better to be a sergeant down at the troop level, than a warrent officer in the officer corps. It's the sergeants who get things done.

Having tens of thousands of backlinks from thousands of pages would certainly be a perk worthy of being sought after...

    Just ask Skrenta. ;)

Though, I do believe you when you say you were happy where you were at. I'm sure that most editors that did it as a hobby were... though that does not mean such perks are not wanted by others.

Actually it depends on the quality of your sites and is it worth to be listed in the DMOZ?
That's the main question to ask your self.

Actually the crucial part is selecting the right categories.
Editor received a lot of submission daily.
    They are human too.

Fellas, fellas, it's just a Directory. If your business depends on that, then you probably don't have much of a business. Why blame your lack of success on others.

Jeez, everybody wants to be a millionaire, but nobody wants to produce anything, just grab somebody elses coattails and hope you get a free ride.

There are no shortcuts, just hard work.

Guys, really, you gotta stop believing these tv ads about instant success on the Internet, sitting at home. The guys that are getting rich, are the ones you guys are listening to and sending your money to. Just go get a real job, and forget about the pie in the sky stuff.
