I just wonder, if you build good content site but don't market our site. How long does it take to get indexed in google?

How long is a piece of string?
In this case it's anything between 24 hours and never.
And what do you mean by'don't market'? No backlinks anywhere? No submission of sitemap?

This is not so important as you can think. The easiest way to get site in index with no pay is to submit in some DOFOLLOW social-bookmarks or another related service;)

You should market it a little. At least a couple of links here or there. Otherwise it might be a while before you are indexed and even then the only SERP you will come up on is your domain name.

About half my site has been crawled by Bing, but it wont crawl the other pages even if I submit them directly. My other pages get crawled almost weekly! Yahoo has crawled my entire site but is even slower than Google to update the cache.

All you need to do is submit a few links on sites that already get crawled frequently Then it's just a matter of a little patience. That's it.

You do NOT need or want to submit to any Search Engines. Work on links from sites that are actively crawled and the search engines will easily find you.

How about what internetmarketingiq is selling? These "3,000 Easy Back Links"? How do I know something like this wont HURT my site. I have heard that the wrong kind of links are bad for your PR.

The answers here seem to be for some other question.

Google will index your site when it finds your site.

How will Google find your site?

    that's the question

Just because some dolt posts something in his sig link does not mean its worth more than dirt.

3000 crappy links will hurt your site. Also building too many links too quickly will hurt your site.....

Since anything in excess is usually junk, your best bet is to steer clear.

Depends on the site. I have sites that get indexed in 20 minutes. Others take two weeks.

If you'll ask a friend with a PR4+ site to put your site's link in the footer of his site and remove it after 24 hours you'll be in Google's index within 2 days.
