squidoo pages get indexed quite quickly usually within 24 - 48 hours but this can vary.

not true. just building a lens is not the main part. you need to promote the lens too. once you build your lens, go to your dashboard to see if you see a green check next to your lens. if you do, then it means squiddo thinks your lens is complete and will starts showing on squidoo search result and start featuring the lens. however, majority of the lens is flagged by squidoo as "work in progress" with a minus sign even if they are completed. in this case you lens will never get indexed by google

You can dramatically speed up the process if you just point a few backlinks to your Squidoo lense ;)
Submitting to Digg for example will help.

You need to put your lens link where google usually crawl often. This forum is a good place to put your lens link or maybe squidu forum. Or maybe you could post
good comment on high PR lens or blogs. :)

Use the same technique that you apply on your website to index it fast.

Google will find your lens fairly quickly. However, you may find it is ranked say on page 2 of Google one day and then it is nowhere to be seen and then it will come back and then disappear again. It's a bit up and down at the moment with Google and Squidoo lenses.

Google doesn't rate Squidoo as highly as it used to so you need to work a little harder to get it to rank well.

It works like a general page, depends on content, if you've quality content, I think it should index fast.

Google can still index your lens, even if the grey minus is not yet a tick, I read that onsite. Sure, it won't rank very highly.

It takes hours if not days.... If you link your page from another page then it gets indexed faster

I can't see how any of what lightlysalted said can be untrue.

lightlysalted is most likely talking from experience. And if it's his experience that lenses get indexed within 48 (and also saying that it can vary) then who are we to disagree?

And you don't understand how WIP works at Squidoo.
