How long does it take for sales/leads/commissions to show?

    Hi,

Just registered today but I've been "lurking" for a few weeks now. I signed up with CJ.com and started some Google campaigns to test the waters. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for CJ to reflect sales, clicks, commissions, etc. on their site? I spent about $110 today in Google and received a total of 44 clicks with each click averaging $2.73 per click. I'm not sure if I actually got zero sales/leads today or if it takes CJ a while to update the stats.

On a side note, seems as though Google is showing my ad in content areas despite the fact that I checked GOOGLE ONLY (no content matching) and USA only. I sent them an email about this and I'm awaiting a reply. Zzzzz....

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

Most advertisers post sales/leads in real-time and they'll be visible in CJ an hour or two later.

Some post in batch, in which case they'll post daily or in some cases less frequent. If you look on the advertiser information page, you'll see something about batch processing to give you indication of this. Batch advertisers can make for some scary PPC.

44 clicks isn't enough to make any statistically based decisions. But at $2.43/click, it certanily makes for emotional ones. I hope the payout for one conversion is pretty high.

Also, keep in mind that if the merchant offers return days (aka cookie duration), the more clicks you get, you fill the pipeline and conversion will go up as you get more people who can come back and convert.

$2.73 a click is too high to start. What are you promoting to pay that much for a click? mortgages? cash loans?

    Hi,

I figured I'd start with the new advertiser/product called Beautilesse. They offer $22 leads w/ a free 30 day trial. I felt that SOMEONE would see FREE and try out the product. No Go.

Since I'm a super duper newbie at this, what type of suggestions/advice can you offer? Like everyone else, I'm trying to make positive cash flow from my PPC investments. I'm doing my homework on PPC and Adwords but I had to start somewhere. Unfortunately for me, that somewhere was expensive PPC's and zero conversions with $110 invested thus far.

I'm truly appreciative of any help you can offer and thanks in advance for your generosity.

i would definetly look at optimizing your landing page for the keywords your bidding on to see if that will lower your CPC... as $2.73 per click is too much.

Also 44 clicks and no one took the free trial?

If your not already, try using highly targeted keywords...

Im not too sure what the advertiser sells/does but if you were promoting beauty products, like haircare items, makeup, moisturisers, etc etc

Don't use keywords like: beauty products etc..... narrow it down to different subjects, like have seperate adgroups called "hair products" "facial cleansers" etc and in those ad groups have keywords relating to the adgroup, and try to keep atleast 1 or 2 common words in your keywords, it also might be a good idea to use action words aswell, such as buy, or purchase, before your keywords to weed out people just looking for information,

    e.g purchase hair colouring products
    buy hair highlighters
    hair cleansing lotion online

This will increase your CTR, becuase people looking for and therfore your quality score will rise, which in turn will lower your CPC

Also i would try several landing pages, one dedicated to each adgroup and have the ad's point to that page as the destination URL, this will also increase your quality score, and thus lower your CPC

Just read that over and im not even too sure it makes sense.... but i tried llollol
