No it doesnt' mean you got 281 links... You should use the linkdomain: function at Yahoo.com (with except from this domain option) to know that.

But trust Google, if you have backlinks, your rank already changed (but you can't know it)

whenever the next update happens and if you got enough backlinks you will see a change in your site pr.

    Thanks for the "linkdomain:" function.

I didn't know about this at Yahoo. This appears to work much better then the "link:" function at Google. It actually shows links to my sites, unlike the google one that only shows a few select links to my sites.

    3 months... 6 months... a year?

There are many factors to consider. Like when the last update was. Or when are your links in those directories going to be indexed themselves. Some may have already been crawled, some may never get crawled or at least take months. Then, once they do get crawled they will not take effect until at least the next PR update.

Regardless though, keep at it, most will be found, and most will eventually give some bonus eventually.

One of the biggest keys is to just keep getting those backlinks. Don't worry so much about PR. It is really an artifical number anyway. Does PR get a new visitor to your site. NO. Marketing and backlinks, and content gets new visitors. And gets old ones to return. So get to work :)

Expect it 3 to 4 months upon the updates. Don't worry about it too much. Just build more links. If you get quality links. Then your PR will change for sure.

Get more and more Quality/relevant Links from blogs, articles, forum signatures etc. But always make sure they are dofollow and related ( for PR juice).

In getting rank in Google, there is no instantly appear your site or get rank, I thought the answer is "strive and wait" with patience... :)
