Perfectly normal - it often takes many months to get a site submitted. They don't include every submission either.
Yep, can take months... and months... and months They were not accepting new content for some time so I didn't get anything listed for over a year. Appears they've just recently restarted so it shouldn't take forever.
What makes you think "restarting" (after the big crash) is going to change anything whatsoever in DMOZ? It's just the same old DMOZ on (presumably) a new server.
It can take hours (extremely rare) to years (even 3 years) before an editor looks at a submission- it all depends on the editor of the category. Your best best is to submit and not worry about it again.
3 years with no review of my submission!! Yeehaw. That should give you a hint of the relevancy of this directory. It's a waste of time and effort and is seriously corrupted. Noone should take the DMOZ seriously. Not even weak search engines (**cough** AOLSearch **cough**). Bitter? Perhaps.
I think he forgot to mention that he has the 6th sense and could probably peek inside dmoz site queue If not that he got lucky and got hold of an editor and he bribed him/her to just tell status of it
actually he could have simply become editor of some obscure culture category do edit every three months and keep check his links if they pass or get rejected, read the reason of rejection, order a hit on editor who rejected it... and submit site again with description:
Please God, NO! Not the Stained Glass Mafia! sprocketdeter, are you sure your site didn't just suck so bad it got rejected? Maybe it didn't have content, maybe it's even more irrelevant than "the DMOZ".
I just think it's really, really funny that anyone would register at a forum just to make one post complaining about corrupt editors not reviewing his/her site when it's at least as likely that the site was rejected. Of course they don't bother telling us the URL so we can see how wonderful the site really is. No, I'll bet his site sucks even more than that site. BTW, we do have a category for that type of site, but no one bothered to submit it and apparently none of the corrupt lazy editors felt like listing it. What a lame category, can't we find anyone among all the ODP haters who wants to join and build up that category? Come on people, if you want to complain at least make it count. LOL
why do you think editors wanish without a trace and they never find bodies that remainds me where is hellborine? ah there she is, she got me worried for a second now annie I have an offer you can't refuse
<applause> thank you, thank you very much I'm writing scenario for sitcom with working title "Everybody Loves Ivan" and I can use real life situations for 90% of materiel so anyone who wants to play a role or don't want there character in it speak now or forever hold your peace (that is don't sue me later!).
