How long does google take to award a new site PR?

I am just wondering how long it could be before google awards a new site PR. According to old story, google doesn't favor new site and 3 months is the least waiting period for any new site to receive PR.

What do you think? welcome to share your experience.

    At givancy2002:

I've had a site awarded pagerank - about 6 weeks after putting it online, i think they go in the so called "sandbox" for about a month, if you get a couple of links pointing in straight away when you create it, your looking at about six weeks... imho

So for example lets say this pr update starts kicking in on 10th August if you had a site up and links to it end of June, you might possibly sneak in with this update

    :D

To reach PR6 in first update you need few VERY strong links(PR6+). Congrats to anybody who can do it.

Every 3rd month their is a PR update. So it should get a PR every update within 2 months time.

Dont believe that you go into the sand box as that is simply not true! I have had brand new sites get a pr5 and even higher in the first update on a brand new domain. Sandbox is mainly for those who do blackhat seo to their websites :)

Should i clarify that you will get PR very soon, almost as soon as you get some links but you will not see it until visual PR updates.

Your page rank will change whenever you get new links. Google keeps your pagerank internalized. They export it to the toolbar every 3 or 4 months. You will get benefits from links whenever google finds them.

To my belief or reading a few blogs on this by some of the big names in the industry.

PR is updated daily on your site, so your site could be PR6 now but... Google doesnt update its PR toolbar for around every 3 months.

I dont know if googles current PR update has happened, apparently its meant ot be VERY soon, it may have gone i dont know but i havent seen many 'My Site Is...' threads on many forums lately so i guess not :)

    Good Luck with it

google updates the page rank 4 times in year.

google takes a snapshot of the web before doing this.

if your web site is inside this snapshot, your web site will get pr on this update
