How long does google sandbox last

Anybody really know what the length of time is, when a site is sandboxed by google ? Mine has been on the net since 2001, and I update it all the time, and provide new version releases of my software, but my site was sandboxed around June 1, SR dropped back from #1-3 spots to page 50 or to cyber space, yet the site has a climbed to a google PR of 5.

But this shows again, PR means nothing, espicaly if you are sandboxed, right now my google traffic is about 1-4 % from the engines

Along these lines does anyone know of an online tool that can tell you if you are sandboxed?

I have heard and read many things about the sandbox, some people will swear that it's only 4-9 months other swear it can be over a year.

I have a site thats now been in for over 9 months as do others on here.

to be honest no one really knows for a fact how long, depending on how you managed your site(s), when google bot first visited, how many links you got and how quick, you could be looking upto 1 year and over or just a few months.

I'll tell you when my site gets released. (At the moment it's on parole, but still does not have many pages, and those which are have only the URL showing, but no title or description in the SERPs.)

I'm curious about the question above, too...

So far, I've received advise to use allinanchor "command" to check if the site is sandboxed or otherwise. Is that true?

Good post. I think it can be even longer. I have a site that I worked on for about 8 months and then let it sit adding a link here and there for about another 6 months. Right when I was about to scrap the design and start all over I logged into my stats and BAM! Went from 14 unique from Google to 400 in 1 day.

Just came right out just like that.

There really is no way of knowing.

Plus, you have to keep in mind that your competitors are thinking just like you. So it is not just getting out of the sandbox, it is also beating the other sites at the game.

If you don't know the exact factors that trigger a sandbox then you can't predict an exact time for getting out of the sandbox. Basically it's around 4-20 months but rarely more.

You must remember that commercial sites (having commercial keywords optimized) are sandboxed more and longer than information websites. The domains also plays an important role. Most .COM and .NET are sandWITCHED more than .ORG, .EDU etc.

    here is a nice tool:
