I've read that a way to increase PR is to get links from sites with high PR. But I'm wondering how long does a link need to be in place for it to affect your site's PR? I've seen several link sales transactions here with prices for 1 month, so is 1 month enough for that site's PR to affect your site?
If you do not submit your site to Google submit page, and instead you buy a PR6/PR7 link you can be indexed and PR rated in 24h ... It's possible. You may achieve the same result within the max of 4/5 days doing this.
Thank you for your reply. But I'm a bit confused, what would be the result if you submitted your site to Google and bought a PR 6/7 link as well?
If you buy a PR6 or PR7 link, you need not submit to google at all. Even if you do so, it makes no sense. Abhilash
I think you misunderstood his post. I think he's asking how long will it take for links to affect PR. To answer that, I think all links PR immediately although PR updates are only once in approximately 3 months so all of those effects can be seen only after the update..
I see, if that's the case, would it be wise to just purchase links for a month only? Or would your PR revert back even before the 3 month update?
TOOLBAR PR changes be seen only after PR TOOLBAR UPDATE, which occurs quarterly. For getting a new site Indexed, get a link from frequently crawled PR 4 ~ 8 site for 1~2 week max. This will serve only for *indexing*. To improve a sites green bar, link value is calculated during the last crawling before the Toolbar PR update. If you'r talking about SERP, then link age brings the benefit - older better. A permanent link pays better on SEO terms, than a temporary one.
PR doesn't get effeced immediatedly once you add a high PR link to your site. All NEW links are kept by Google on a probation period. So once the links get matured (NO fixed time frame), then only the PR of the links are passed. Else everyone will but high PR links for just a month or so before the PR update n remove once the update has gone. The links needs to be present on the site much longer to have the maximum seo benefit.
My take: PR and SE Rankings are two different things. If you take a high PR link before 1 month of PR Update, its effect on: PR: will be seen as soon as the PR updates SE Rankings: can take many months to achieve any benefit
