I have never ran into the situation of being able to see a Google Bot on one of my sites. But with my new forum VerbalBattle.com it lists the GoogleBot and other bots in the Resgistered users list. So, whenever a GoogleBot is on my site I can see that it is there. I has now been on my site for the better part of three hours. It did disappear briefly for about 15 minutes and then reappeared. Does anyone know how long they are generally on a site? I obviously do not have a problem with it, just asking for curiousities sake.
