    How long do you think Fuel Resources Last ??

    I heard someone saying that it may last for just about 80 yrs from now ?

    Do you think that can be anywhere close to the truth ?

    It is predicted that the fuel prices will raise to $150/barrel in the next month (july) . You can imagine from this increasing trend that one day human will search for fuel but fuel will not be there !

    I hope scientist can come up with a viable alternative for fossil fuel that can power our cars.

    They already have hybrids, and should soon have a fully working hydrogen car that uses stripped hydrogen molecules from H20.

    Its really a big concern that the fuel prices are increasing all the time and their reserves are becoming empty. The world should concentrate even more on natural sources of power and energy. Otherwise, we will be in a worse situation where we will have such less reserves of fuel that all the countries will start fighting with each other to get hold of the reserves.

    WAR is what I see too .. Only when you realize you need something very badly, one opts for WAR ..

    What changes to the current system, do you think can change this situation ?

    * People becoming more aware of the fact that we need to conserve natural resources
    * Car pooling
    * Increased use of public transport
    * More use of fuel efficient vehicles
    * Conservation of electricity
    * Government spending more money on research of natural and alternate sources of fuel and energy and subsidizing production cost of such things.

    I hope I won't live enought days to see it happens...

    btw, OIL companies are the b*tches not letting us a step forward. They wan't to sell the last drop of oil for the highest price, after they earn ultra trillions, they will pass the bussines to another fuels - natural ones
    And they will do it, at any cost ;)

    For those who are unaware of how every time any government gets involved in economic policy it somehow ends up screwing it up.

    Just recently, congress passed a bill stating that the corn production of the US must increase by six times the then current amount for ethanol production. Forget how that totally screws over supply and demand, increasing the cost of corn (as a food), destroying one of the staples sent over to starving Africans (if you care about that sort of thing) not that it matters, as a world council (I think the World Food Council) convened on the matter of ~95% of the money sent doesn't go to feeding anybody, the result of which was: send more money, not send actual food, send more money. Hemp, as mentioned above contains more ethanol and can be grown denser (more crop per acre) than corn, but nooooo any cannabinoid is EVIL and may not be grown.

    And for those hydrogenaholics, here's a nice little equation for you: 2H2O -> 2H2 + O2 | 2H2 + O2 -> 2H2O. For those that can't read that, it means the way we have of creating pure hydrogen using the least amount of energy is by separating it from water which coincidentally takes exactly the same amount of energy that burning it produces. So what you're burning in your eco-friendly car is oil burned in a power plant. Good job saving the world there. Unless you can find a source of naturally pure hydrogen you're saving nothing. Good luck with that.
