Hi I had a website which was penalized and thrown out of the index a while ago due to a content problem. After making corrections it took some time but came back into the index to number 390 for my keyword. It has been about 4 weeks since and it still at this position plus minus 40 results up or down.Is this normal and what should I do to help it go down.I have added more quality content and it has also got a new page rank but still is there. Thanks
As much as I don't believe in it, it might be a case of being 'thrown in the sandbox'. You can read more about it in the Sandbox section on DP.
get more backlinks to your site either through article directories like http://www.goarticles.com and http://www.ezinearticles.com or posting press releases or blogging on do follow blogs
Maybe your are being penalise for something other then your content. What was your SERP position before initial penalty ?
Is there any way to know you got penalized instead by looking at the performance of your keywords? How can you know you got penalized specifically for your content and not for another reason? Thanks!
no one knows for sure how long penalizations last but i know some are short term and some are permanent.
Mine lasted for a single PR update period. I was kicked out of high SERPS and given an N/A. Corrections occurred, was given first place on for my SERP and a PR of 3.
