.. before you started getting good traffic to your website.

My websites been up a week, and I been getting about 100 impressions a day with an ok click through rate, I am on target for getting a check cut this month. :D Ive been submitting articles like mad, but I guess depression and mental health arent much read ezine's. Tips appreciated too.

I am getting good traffic from adwords, but looks like im loosing money thought on it. payout from adsense is half what I spend on adwords

    I got real lucky...

I made a forum/page. 1.5 months later I have 2,500 users and about 2,500 uniques/15,000 page views per day. No advertising, no adwords, no SEO, nothing.

Granted, I got real lucky. You just need to find something that there is demand for. :)

Calm down with adwords. As much I understand, you have forum and noone is registered? Why anyone will stay in empty forum? You will continue to throw money on adwords untill your forum reach decent number of posts..

You know you have a good point, I never thought of it that way. There would be no point driving customers to a blank forum.

hire a forum posting service to get it rolling.. there are guys on this forum that run companies that do just that...

    Then go with adwords..

If you want to save money, and have some time, register yourself under different alias, then spend a week or two posting every day. I know, it's kind of deceptive, but it's easy, cheap, and you'll convince visitors to stop and register instead of stopping by, seeing an empty forum, and then splitting. Once you get a dozen or so regular members, you're in business, and can stop posting under the aliases.

I think people spend too much on AdWords. I buy 5 cent keywords, get 10 of thousands of impressions and pay well, you can guess.

Let's try to get this thread back on topic guys :)

I've spent about 2 years worth of spare time (when I wasn't in school or working) to get my site to a bit over 1 million page views a month. It wasn't that hard for me though because I enjoyed doing it.

I enjoy it as well, I dont work and usually spend several hours a day working on my pages. So Im hoping in the next 3 mos I should be rolling and getting indexed. Im expanding past the original scope of the website since Im running out of ideas for content. :crosses fingers:

4 months for me, after that I got about 500 unique visitors per day, 100 pages indexed by google and PR4. Never spent on AdWords or other paid Ad.
500 unique visitors/day and PR4 convinced me to apply to google AdSense.

    I just reached 13k Unique yesterday :D

Submit quality content to websites that index them and the design is very unique so it grabs people attention to bookmark. I ran a forum before as well, it was very popular because of the content it provided. It's all about content and the design of the site.

It took me a year to average a 1000+ readers a day.
There are many blogs devoted to the football club Arsenal FC, so I looked at all of them, understood my strong points and took a unique approach.

    I developed a reputation and ...
