How long did it take you?

I was wondering what the normal range for unique visitors on a new site. My sites have been up a couple of weeks, and I seem to average around 200-400 veiws a day. How is that for a couple weeks in? Is my set up ok? How long did it take you to start getting 1000+ visitors a day?

200-400 pageviews within the first couple weeks is pretty good, assuming 1-2 visitors didn't view 100+ pages. One site I just put up is getting about 125 uniques after 2.5 weeks. I only have one site getting 1,000 plus a day and it took about 5 months.

 

Youre pretty good. Just continue what you are doing, do some digging. Bookmarkings etc.

Depends on how you are getting the traffic. If its PPC then definitely, you can have thousands of visitors per day. If its organic traffic then you have to wait for Google to index your site/articles etc...that may take a few weeks and sometimes months depending on competition for the particular keywords you are using..

 

With the right promotion techniques its fairly easy to achieve that, digg, stumble, etc..

 

Wow, thanks for the feedback. Ok, I am not using keywords, or have really read much about keywords yet, so I will look into that more. Also, whats is organinc traffic and PPC?? I sort of am just writing, and finding the most useful resources for people and putting it together. I have put them out on a few social networking sites, and submitted to a few directories. Any tips of what I need to be looking into would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

 

Pretty good traffic. Mine only gets a handful visitors each day. I know I need to work harder.

 

People only get big traffic early on if they do the bookmarking thing. Even with great content and links, I would say it takes around 6 months before the traffic really starts to pile in from Google.

 

Couple of weeks get 200~400 UV consider as good result. How long time to get 1000 UV per day is depend on how good you are in SEO

You can participate in Yahoo! Answers (YA) and build some links in the message box. Do this frequently and you will drive more traffic to your site. YA's is a good source to drive traffic to your site and those traffic are really targeted.

 

Coming from several sites, but a good % from a mommy forum I have been a member of for 3 years. About 30% of my traffic comes from there.

The yahoo answers, I got in trouble for using my site as a answer, IDK, oh well.
