What's the matta, son, don't like being put on the spot?

Yeah, many who go on and on about seo usually don't.

Hey, can't beat free entertainment. :)

    Still waiting for your url.

    Here's my traffic stats noob.

    I <3 SEO

You're forcing traditional advertising methods on a new vehicle. Stick to magazines and teevee buster, SEO rules this house.

    Muuuuuuhahaha

I do understand SEO but SEO alone won't bring you near $10,000/month unless you have some sites and you SEO all of them for competitive keywords. However, most big companies prefer advertisement than doing SEO things (i don't consider providing good article and submitting them to social bookmarking sites is part of SEO). I know how to get massive amount of traffic from social media and bookmarking sites but usually they are not converting well. Traffic from search engine is still much better if we talk about conversion rate. Therefore, playing in SEO and social media sites alone won't make good amount of money (unless you have some sites or you successfully SEO your website for one of the most competitive keywords in this world) And don't forget there are plenty of blackhat people in social media playground as well. Not everyone could get hundreds of diggs everyday and not everyone could get hundreds of thousands views on YouTube but some of them easily achieve these thanks to their blackhat method (which requires money to start)

Good money can be made by grabbing ranks for many targeted long tail keywords.

Actually, getting backlinks from social bookmarking sites and article directories are two good methods I use to boost my SEO, as long as links for social bookmarking sites aren't nofollow.

So true. Social media traffic completely sucks.

Yes you need websites and you need to be on first page for at least a couple decent keywords, but they don't have to be the most competitive in the world.

Blackhat is a waste of time. Eventually all your work is undone and you just have to keep working to stay ahead of the SE's. Might as well work a job and get paid by the hour.

Uh, webwork, you were better off not showing that. lol damn, man.

How long did it take you to make that one up?

    Just curious.

The black out was a nice effect, though.

If you really want to show me up, and strut your stuff for others to see, show 'em what pages you are on in the search engines. ;-)

lol you noob it's a statcounter screenshot, took me about 10 seconds. I suppose you don't use statcounts since you have no traffic to count. What are you doing on a webmaster forum again??

You called me a liar so I gave you proof that I'm not. It takes a real man to admit he was wrong. I guess your not there yet.

Either A) You're just being ridiculous and obnoxious for your own entertainment.
or B) You're trying to get inside information on other webmasters' niches BTW you were so convincing and clever with that "If you really want to show me up..." line. I almost fell for it. Almost.

    Anyway, which is it Perry?

If you want to mine gold, you're going to have to find your own pick. Good luck hunny bun.

Mine gold? A blog that has less than 300 daily hits?

    Okay.

    Work it. It'll get better.

And there you go, guys. When in doubt about somebody, put them in the corner, and watch them squirm and try to get out.

Do your homework on a "method" and on people who make claims, before doing anything else! It will save you a lot of headaches in the end, which will keep you going so you don't have any thoughts of letting your domain expire in frustration.

    Sincerely,
    Noob

It's all good Perry. The more people you convince that SEO isn't worth the time then the less competition and more money for me.

    Thanks,
    some liar

P.S. A lot of judgementalness coming from someone who's not making money online, a little strange if you ask me.

    Ditto Ditto Ditto

This is the BIGGEST mistake I see over and over. Someone rushes into a niche without researching it and wastes a ton of time and in some cases loses a lot of money.

Back to the original question, it took us ( girlfriend and I ) about 2 years before we were consistently making 100.00 per day.

Once you reach that mark we found it very easy to multiply our earnings and duplicate success across our network. You just need to find the formula that works for you and stick with it. This includes ignoring all the haters on forums and spending your time on things that help you progress rather then having an "Internet fight".

    "More money for me."

    See, folks? Works everytime.

Sorry, son, but you asked for it.

Next time be honest with the posters here and you won't be put on the spot, which, in turn, makes you look even more foolish.

So the others can keep this thread on track, this is my last post here. My work is done. :) You have the last word, "some lair." Make it good. ;-)

    Have a great day! ;-)

I guess I make that, but I bust my butt to make it and it's not easy. I have good days, great days and horrible days. Some days, I make $0 for 10 hours of work. I usually work 70+ hours a week, but I do work from home and that's what I really wanted anyway.

The last word is.... find your own niche and stop trying to piggyback respectable webmasters. har har har! ;)

I held the same views as you Perry for the longest time, probably a year or more when I was trying to make money online. In retrospect these views really hurt my pocketbook. I did everything under the sun except SEO and affiliate marketing because I thought that this route was the most difficult, and I didn't have the confidence in myself that I could actually get it to work for me.

So, I spammed Myspace, did paid-for survey junk, Ebay, and some other stuff. When I finally got around to saying "Shit, I might as well try affiliate marketing." I soon found out that it wasn't as difficult as people made it, and I had wasted a lot of time with get-rich-quick methods when I should have started with affiliate marketing in the first place. Had I done this, I would be well past the $100 a day mark for sure.

I came across an affiliate marketing survey done by E-Consultancy conducted on 1,536 affiliate marketers. The found that 61% full-time marketers earned at least £20,000, and 10% earned over £750,000 in the last year. 150+/1,536 are clearing over a $1,000,000 a year.

Organic search is used by 74% of respondents compared to 38% who used paid search. 43% think SEO is the single most effective way of getting and converting traffic, compared to paid search at 22%.
