How long did it take you to get rankings back?

Google recently murdered 2 of my sites (not sure if it's because I ran TLA on them or not), but I lost thousands of keywords and pretty much went from 10,000 uniques/day to a mere 2-3,000.

I know this has happened to a lot of people...where Google just removes like all your rankings. I'm just wondering how long it took for some of you to get some rankings back. I've heard 5 weeks is about normal.

 

I noticed today my site does not appear at all in google. When I query site:MYSITE.com in google, no results show up.

Anybody else experiencing this?

 

It may take several weeks up to months to get the normal/original status/activity of a site..it's hard to figure out the exact duration. much better to promote your site as much as you can..

 

How old is your site? Have you done link building?

 

My site is almost 10 years old and yes I have done link building through the years. Im just keeping my fingers crossed and hope that it's just a glitch at google

 

Sites sometimes disappear from the index for unknown reasons, they usually reappear within a few days to a week, if not the same day.

 

FYI, my sites are both like 1.5 years old.

 

Be honest, did you use any black hat seo tactics?

 

Not that I know of. I think it's a result of selling text links on my sites.

 

My sites has disappeard from searche results also. However I can find it with "site:" but not when typing in only the URL address.

 

This happened on one of my clients LARGEST terms. We completely disappeared. It took about 4 weeks before it came back and then once it did, it left again So I continued to wait and it came back 4-5 days letter and been up for around 1 month so....

I hate when that happens though!

This have happend to the pages of a customer of mine. After doing a full check on he's site, i found out that he had over 50 outbound links to banned pages. Have you controlled your outbound links?

my site is lost from google more than 2 years now, i don't know the reason.

 

It depends you have to get more quality links and try to create new content by inserting your keywords.

 

I have also faced the similar situation last year.... just at this time....

I think this is an automated penalty which gets triggered by the anti spamming algorithm.
First step with these type penalty is :-
> Find the reason
- It could be meta redirects (for me this was the case)
- Linking to penalized sites
Rectify these errors and get some quality link such that crawlers crawl your site.....

As i followed these steps and i was out of penalty.. it tooked around 1 months....

First of you should to check your message board in google webmaster tools that you received any message from google for any kind of penaly you got. If your website is not listing in google right now.

For getting back listing of your website you should to starte link building for your site.

It is very helpful for your website getting listing back in search engines if you will get a trusted links from .edu and .org domains and also u should to get some high PR links. Then it is useful for getting your listing in google back.

 

I follow the same advice already mentioned here: seek out any links to banned sites (be thorough, because sites that were once relevant to your content may have been sold to someone else who loaded it up with banned content. I've seen it happen before), and obtain new links to your site from quality sites. Do this and your site should be back in a couple of weeks at most.
