My website got into Google quite quickly, within a few weeks of submission, although not all the pages are indexed yet. I have heard of other people's sites taking months to get in.
You can get sites into google really quickly with enough links, but usually it is few pages that don't rank great. Google tends to sandbox new sites so you may get some traffic only to find it disappear as you enter the sandbox. With google, think longer term, build backlinks and improve content and you should start to rank once to are no longer sandboxed.
a couple of days, i submitted my site and it got stumbled (im pretty sure it got indexed because my site got stumbled)
It can take a few weeks to get indexed, Some get indexed faster. (as "Playswfgames" mentioned, stumble, digg etc can get you indexed quite fast) But ranking usually takes time, "coated" pretty much summed it up with his post. I may take a while to consistently rank well with Google, (especially if you get sandboxed) Cheers James
I got the homepage indexed pretty fast, but the rest of pages are none. Which means if i search site:abc.com there is only 1 result. Is this normal?
It usually has been instantly because we started building links before the site was launched. So when the site is launched we are ready.
Withiun a week any new site will be indexed, if the keyword is not so competative will get good position on SERP. Nothing special on it. But get a position for a high competitive niche is very difficult and will take time
You can submit xml sitemap page to webmastre tool. and submit to social bookmarking sites. bookmarking sites are helps easy to indexing all inner pages.
You can get indexed in Google within days....although not all pages but atleast the homepage Google will then find out the inner pages in the coming days or weeks You can speed up the process by building links in a controlled manner for important pages of your websites
my new site listed with in 3-4 days of registration , you just need to post on some forums or comment on few blogs to get yourself indexed quickly
now days it is quick to get indexed.a few weeks is not quick. even if you don't do any link building you can get indexed in a week or less. you may have understood what you read.if you have lots of pages,it could take months for google to index them all. each time google bot visits the site,it scans a certain amount of pages, then moves along. the more backlinks you have and how often content is added can increase how offen the bot visits. also you need a good link structure so the bot follows all the links.
You can get indexed very fast (a day or two), ranking high takes a longer time though. To get indexed, build some content, verify your site at Google Webmaster Tools and submit your XML-sitemap. You will get indexed. From then on, keep building quality content with a wide variety of keywords and start promoting your site by getting inbound links to it. Writing blog comments, forums posts and other way of getting inbound links...
well I myself didn't add my web site to google, but google found my website just in a week, and got PR 4 just in 3 months...
