How long did it take you to finally get it right?

I work a full time job, and when I get home at 6, I feel like there is never enough time to figure this stuff. For instance, yesterday, I got on, answered some emails, then looked for Content to put on my site.

Then I read something in a forum that told me I should research keywords first to make sure my site is about the right thing. I thought i had a good domain name, but in a forum someone thought it looked like spam. The content I find isn't written well.

I could write my own content, but it takes a lot of time. Now i have to buy a new domain name....and ugh! before I knew it, it was 4 in the morning. Nothing done. No money made. Work in the morning. And I just got frustrated. How long did it take you? And what am I doing wrong?

Concentrate on one issue at a time. Make a detailed schedule of what you want to do and stick to it.

I would treat your project more as a hobby which could make you money. Make sure you interested in your site topic to writing the content is easy.

You are going through "Brain Overload" you need to sit down and write what you want to achieve for the day and then do it. It took me 6 months to get myself together with an effective plan, i too use to waste a lot time doing "nothing"

The second line of my sig showed me how & where to promote my website and took me step by step through the ways to do this. Now i have a clear head and a good link building strategy in place.

There is so much to learn in Internet Marketing why not get shown the right way and have a website built for you.

Have a look , it might just help you out.

I was in the same situation as you. Overwhelmed with so much stuff and then getting home at 6pm. Heres what I did. Write everything to the detail you want to get done with your site. Then break it down into the days or hours you would work on each thing, Also i highly recomend subscribing to all the webmaster sites you visit rss feed saves you a bunch of time instead of spending your time on the forum and also get the Read it later plugin for firefox. So a typical day for me would be as follows:

6-7pm = add content to my blog
7-8pm = Work on marketing. Forum posting, blog commenting, link exchange
8-9 = Add videos to my site
9-10= Go over my rss read on anything new and anything im studying to know better(seo, adsense, etc)

Also a great time saver is your celphone. im usually on digitalpoint in the morning on my way to work so i dont have to get on later on.

It took me a little while to figure it out, but once you do, you'll be excited for work every single day!
