I think some people will find $20 a day hard while some people are finding it pretty easy to clear $2k a day, the differnet? Basically intelligence... Some people just aren't very good at creative thinking and are forced to forums like this one to try and scrap together someone elses creative thinking to make a buck or two.

I'd say less to do with intelligence and more to do with attitude. I've copied other people's business models in the past (like ones being taught in courses) and applied them successfully to earn a passive income. It did not need much creative thinking to do, just persistence, trial and error and hard work.

Of course being able to think creatively is a huge advantage, but I think most people have the ability to be creative, but they have the wrong attitude, like looking for easy answers and lack of belief in trying their own ideas.

It took me about a year and a half because I started without any money or guidance. Until I mastered SEO, I was basically using useless tactics such as traffic exchanges, safelist, and free classified ads. When my first site ranked on the front page, I went from making ZERO dollars to over 100 dollars a day overnight...

I was self taught...but I did not learn it in the forums a first. There is just too many conflicting thoughts for a newbie to decipher. I lucked up and found a great 90 page ebook by Brad Callen called "Seo Made Easy". It gave me the basics I needed to understand the language and then I started hanging out in forums like this, Webmasterworld..and such.

Took me three years to learn the ins and outs, what works and what doesn't.

Now its smooth sailing from here on in, I only bought tools with the money i made from IM, so i lost nothing.

I agree with the back in the day statement. I remember when $20.00 per day was easily achieved through adsense, in fact back in the day it took me a month to get to the $50.00 per day level when adsense was good. Now it is a different story and I get most of my income from affiliate traffic.

I haven't made it to the $20/day mark yet but I can't honestly say I've tried hard enough to make it there. I'm laying out some plans for 2 or 3 new websites at the moment, and I think they'll be able to bring me past that level if I can stay dedicated to them.

You can offer to do anything from the silly to the most techie projects and get paid in your paypal account.

I am a newbie in internet marketing but I believe in that it is really, slowly but surely in terms of business. It is all in the timing. Right now I am consistently earning $5 a day and i believe that I can become a better marketer soon.

People seem to generalize income in relation to the amount of effort they put in and traffic coming to their site. This is often not that relevant to your earnings. What is however, is your niche and how you monetize your site.

You can have a "funny picture" site that gets 30,000 unique visitors a day and only make $3.50 a day, while you have a real estate site geared toward a specific region and only have 150 unique visitors a day and make $30 day.

There is more money in in targeted niches. Especially those that are in demand to advertisers like real estate, photogrpahy and car salesmen etc.

Look into more of a regional niche rather than trying to market to a huge saturated national market.

Need ideas on whats in demand? Just follow local radio and tv ads, these are the kinds of businesses that are paying for Adwords

I agree with the poster that mentioned it was more attitude than intelligence. Obviously, you need a modicum of reason, but since this path has been trodden many times before, it's simply a matter of doing what the successful do.

If there's a learning curve, then so be it. But I don't believe it's difficult to learn even if you're completely new as long as you take your time and don't try to cram everything into a day or two.

I believe there are few other things that impact income besides SEO marketing, though. Having a good, no, having an excellent product sure helps. Personally, I'm in the Health and Wellness industry and in my experience, if a product produces tangible results in a very short period of time, you're able to hang on to your customers. They will not want to get sick again!

If you don't keep losing your customers, you don't have to find replacements all the time to continue earning. Each new customer adds to your business instead of just maintaining a status quo. Attrition is a killer in business... so I seriously believe that if you can avoid high attrition rates, making $20 a day shouldn't be that difficult.
