Just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to get 2000 unique visitors after launching a brand new website?

You talking about 2000 a day or a month?

My new site(1 month old) is on track to about 2000 uniques this month

Hmm.. traffic depends on the target market.

But a jump from 0 to 2000 unique visitors in just one month? No offense, but I'm not quite convinced by this. It's either a short-term traffic or it is not 100% Human Traffic.

I think he/she means 2000 unique visitors per day - that's how most people count traffic to websites.

It took me about 9 months of consistent work to get to a point where I consistently bring in 2000 visitors per day. I probably had a traffic spike that brought me to 2000 at about month 7 or 8, but getting it consistent is the real trick.

The site allready ranks nr.1 in MSN, but some of the traffic also comes from webmasters to review my site for directory entry :)

Oh Yeah! Sorry I got confused. :p Subzero is pertaining to 2000 unique visitor per Month (below), which is realistic.

While I am pertaining to 2000 unique visitors per day, that is why I reacted to the last post. Because our site is now getting an average of 4000 - 5000 unique steady human visitors per day, but it took us more that 8 months to accomplish.

    Sorry about the confusion. :p

Yes, definitely not the one in my SIG. I'm not allowed at the moment to mention what site it is, but I hope that screenshot will be enough proof. ;)

it depends on niche etc.. as some sites you don't need high traffic you jsut need quality for instance i have one site gets consistent 2K uniques a day but i have another site only get 500 uniques a day but the 500 uniques makes more money... also has to do with topics.... I would say if the traffic is out there for you to get and your site is good you can get 2K a day within a year.

if it's in a day, I think in 3-4 months of hard work you reach this.

It sure is. It's a pretty good counter that one. I like the detailed info for each project. You can pretty much drill down t any details. Almost find out what colour undies you are wearing.

LOL yeah. It is a good stats, specially when you pair it up with Google Analytics. It gives you a very good overview on the traffic and target market, that way you can plan easier and more accurately. :D

The only thing AdWords ever gave me was some traffic with no clicks, and I lost a lot of money fast. I have a LOT better luck using cheaper ppc places. I do NOT like AdWords or Overture for ppc

That's fast, and I'm quite curious how you did it. Can you give us some more tip about it? :p

But I agree with xboxundone, sometimes it depends on the Niche. :)

It definitely depends on the niche. I went with the classic "Sex sells" mentality for one of my sites (there's no sex on it, just sexy ladies :D ) and my first month nabbed almost 4000 uniques. Second month traffic more than doubled and again the third month. Know that I hadn't put my DP learnings into effect until the end of the first month.

Sadly I started getting gullible and this month's traffic is quite a bit behind... just goes to show you've gotta stay on the ball ;)
