How long did it take for your Adsense profits to take off?

    Hi all,

    For those of you whose Adsense profits have taken off, how long did it take for you to do that? Did your incomes increase gradually over time? Or did they jumped at a particular time because of something you did?

    How many hours do you work each week to increase Adsense profits?

    Do you treat it as a business or as a hobby?

    Would love to hear your stories.

    I think you should be worrying about getting traffic more than anything else and I mean this in a good way.

    If you have quality content, and traffic, adsense will take care of itself.

    I have 350 uniques a day to my site which started in nov. Those numbers have risen each month, and due to me having quality content, my ads are relevant and people are interested in clicking on them, thus my decent ctr. Good luck.

    I am averagin 120 uniques a day since I put my site up 10 days ago, but I am paying for them by way of adwords and Ypn adverts. I think concentrate on the site and do not be afreaid to aoend a little $. That the only way in my opinion. Good luck

    By continuously adding content, researching & targetting keywords, the number of visitors will increase which will help increase your adsense.

    For me the number of visitors increased gradually. I started as a hobby & now it's kind of a part-time business!

    Some that come to mind:
    -Check the keywords your major competitors are using.
    -http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ this can give an idea on key words for your site.
    -Check the high paying words that you already have.

    Then target & improve.

    I appreciate all the inputs. I agree that Adsense is the end results. Working to improve your website is the key.

    But,

    If I treat this as a business, I want to have a business plan. I want to have some kind of goal that says one year from now my adsense income will be $xxx per month/week/day. You know what I mean?

    I think for the most part your adsense profit will totally be based on having a decent website topic combined with how much traffic you get. I personally have a couple of sites - three main ones - between them I get around 4000 - 5000 uniques a day. Now the topics themselves aren't exactly high paying - they are actually quite low - but they are topics I'm interested in and enjoy, and that for me earns mid to high $xxx a month.
