Hi. I have just started with adsense a month ago and I currently trying to build traffic on my blogs and sites.

I would just like to have an idea of how long it takes to build page views for a single website to atleast 1k per day.

About 1.5 years for my first site, and about a year for the second. Now I have sites 3 and 4 and I think I can do it much faster.

Not to sound like everyone else, but reading forums like this is the best thing - there is no single path to success..

Well, it will also depend on your site. If the site is say a 5 page content site, then it would be much harder to get to 1000 pageviews as apposed to a gallery site with hundreds of images.

In general building traffic takes time. Sometimes you get lucky and get featured on well known sites or TV programs, but in the end it comes down to building a high quality site and letting word of mouth do most of the work for you.

1 year for most of my sites but like Crusader said it depends on the site and the market.

For me it took quite long, which means about 9 months for my first site... However I was just starting out then and didn't work on it regularly. So it mostly depends on how much effort you put in it and a good portion of luck.

It depends on how you market it, with my site www.coolest-gadgets.com I was able to get it up to a 1000 page views a day within a month. I did this by purchasing an advert in one newsletter and getting a mention in a friends newsletter for free. If you can afford to invest in advertising you can get the site to that level pretty quickly and provided your site is sticky visitors will come back and you'll get links and more visitors by word of mouth.

Just curious if the higher traffic level lasted beyond the time the advertisement ran. Or would you advise keeping the advertisements running?

Wow! That is a long time. How were you able to manage more than 3 sites with different contents?

Thanks. I would try that. How much would I need to shell out to get this traffic?

How about the others? Anyone out there want to share their experience?

1000 page views took just a few days and was achieved through a mixture of two ezine ads a press release followed up with some rapid (and in many ways fortunate) link building efforts.

Getting to where I was averaging 1,000 unique visitors a day took about a month.

The site is in my sig. I think the reason it went so well was the unique content which meant I got picked up by some blogs and other high-traffic sites early, and then when their traffic started to drop off, I had some good links lined up from content sites like about.com.

It took me about a year. I worked manually and didn't spend much money. It really depends on how fast you want to get there. Their isn't any specific time, especially if you have money and know where and how to utilize it.

I got a peak when the newsletter with my advert was published and found that it also generated many repeat visitors. The newsletter that I paid for an advert in had a distribution of ~125,000 and cost me about $300 which also included a year long PR6 link.

I always have an Adwords campaign running promoting my website. You have to spend money to make money.

Took me about 9 months to average over 1k page views per day from purely organic traffic. It also depends on the keywords you target - if you are able to achieve good SE postions on highly searched keywords, you will get more visitors and more page views faster. I started with lower searched KW's with less competition and am working my way up from there.

If you have good content and offer useful information, you will get lots of repeat visitors as well which is what you want.

My newest site (subnixus in sig.) averages 50-100 new users a week without promotion. That's about the average for my sites which rely on word of mouth and SEO...

Retail sites can hit 10,000 users on day one if you are paying for it.

Early on I started an adult site which generated 60,000 uniques on the best day of the first week. It was just lucky to be listed on another large adult link site. Unfortunately I was promoting a sponsor which closed down just before it was listed and I didn't make a cent.

Mainstream sites are a lot harder to raise traffic for, I don't have any sites over a few hundred unique visitors a day.

I think it all depends on how many sites you have before, which you can use to direct traffic to the new site (and get experience).

I launched a new site yesterday, and got 700 uniques on the first day, just from advertising on my own sites.
