I am wondering whats the quickest time you have managed to create a website that has peeked 1000 unique visits a day, discluding: crawlers, proxy sites, rssreaders

My main site still isnt packing 1000 yet and its been 13 months.

It all depends on the site

I made a site that got to 1,000 uniques a day on day 3, and kept going up

Its about doing something thats in demand now, that no one else is doing

I hit 1,000 in the first week on 1 day for the site in my signature, but I wasn't consistently averaging above 1,000 until month 3. I'm now averaging 12K/day (start of month 5). Very little (about 300/day) of this is from Google.

Google Analytics does a good job of tracking. Unless you wanna go for paid one.

It took about two years to average 1,000 uniques daily (per StatCounter).

Took me 3-4 months to get a consistant average of 1,000 per day; the majority from G.
After 14 months daily average is about 10,000-13,000/day about 80% from G ..

There is no better software solution than analytics.

Analytics used to be urchin stats track which was $5,000 per domain for a licence, just because google gives it away for free doesn't devaluate it in any way.

I think you can do it quickly if you have a site on an uncompetitive niche but that also gets lots of search terms. Those are hard to come by though.

Seph - what's your site? 800 hits/day after 6 weeks is pretty impressive.

I peaked at 700 per day after a few months but now it's kind of steady. A long trip away was to account for that thouth.
