Well I found an expired domain I wanna grab..I did a whois on it and noticed this:

    Registrar: GO DADDY SOFTWARE, INC.
Status: PENDINGDELETE [expired, cannot be renewed; will be available within 0-5 days]
    Dates: Created 18-aug-2005 Updated 30-oct-2006 Expires 18-aug-2006
    DNS Servers: PARK9.SECURESERVER.NET PARK10.SECURESERVER.NET PARK29.SECURESERVER.NET PARK30.SECURESERVER.NET

i'm curious it says 0-5 days but since it expired 18th of august how come it takes so long? Also..how often should I be checking to see if its available? I really wanna grab it..two times a day? three times a day? Thanks in advance!

Count 5-6 days from its last updated date. That's approximately when it'll be
    available.

Check as often as you can. If it's a good domain it will get snagged.
If it's worth it to you - you can try and get it on snapnames.com

I think there's a span of 4 hours when all the expired domains get released everyday. But the chances are that snapnames.com and other dropcatching companies will grab it if someone else has backordered it. They have their automated systems and keep hitting for a specific domain for it to drop.

Moreover, if the domain was earlier booked by network solutions, it'll first be grabbed by snapnames.com sice the 2 have an assciation.

I suggest you backorder the domain on major dropcatchers to ensure you at least get to be in the later bid if it happens. And keep trying to book it yourself too.
