hi everyone, i have just started my own webiste and my niche is gadgets. i have spent all morning commenting on gadget bloggs and placing my link under my comments but when i enter my URL into google search the links are not there, also i used the backlinks checker tool and it says i have no backlinks.my question is: how long before i start to see some backlinks from the comments to bloggs i posted? thank you in advance alan
Google records Backlinks. but.. doesn't show on time. So.. to check the backlink, visit : http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ and type your domain. You will get two stats called 'Pages' and 'InLinks', the inlinks are the backlinks and the number in the brackets is the number of backlinks you have. Note : The results vary if you search adding www. and search without www.
Yes, Google is not that fast in showing backlinks… But I guess they record it at the time, and only hold the record for some time because they check the relevancy of those links before publishing!
thanks echo for the tips..well i have a question tho..if we leave comments on other blogs/website, will the effort increase the backlinks?
google is something like 3 months slow to show backlinks and even then... they are picky about the ones they list... if you type " link:http://yourdomain.com " in yahoo you will see a lot more..
Yes, if the blogs are do follow. If not you can comment away and you will see no effect on your backlinks. Check out some of the other posts on do follow vs. no follow as you need to comment on do follow blogs if you want the link juice.
Hey, Rich. How do you find the blogs that allow follow links? I did a bunch earlier this week, and the buggers were all "nofollow". What a waste of time... I'd like to be able find the right blogs and ignore the "nofollow" ones in future.
To see back links updates just use yahoo siteexplorer, you can also add your site so your site can be index very fast or with priority... just like what i use to my new site.
Make sure you comment on dofollow blogs and wait patiently. If only we could work building links "all morning" and then see the results in the afternoon but it's not that easy. Persistence and hard work pays off.
i read a post on this forum that recommended a firefox plug-in called nodofollow, basically what is does is highlight all the nofollow links on a webpage as pink and all the the dofollow links as blue, it seems most of the bloggs i commented on were no follow , i have to find gadget/electronic bloggs that are do follow
Google and Yahoo give credit to different back links. Some Google don’t acknowledge and some Yahoo don’t acknowledge. If your site is brand new it probably isn't even cached by Google unless you put your link on a good site or submitted a site-map. Google back link credits don't show on your control board exactly when they show up on Google. The control board info takes a while to get updated. About the time they update the back link info it's usually outdated again if you have been working hard. Peace, Herman
Use this tool, SEO for Firefox: http://tools.seobook.com/firefox/seo-for-firefox.html Not only does it enhance your Google searching but when you go on ANY web page it hightlights ALL NOFOLLOW links with a red background. This tool is a must for anyone building links, SEO etc....
There is no way to tell exactly how long it will take before the backlinks actually start showing up. Google is in control of all this and there is no way to know when you will start seeing results or not! Kristi
You will see the backlinks in next google update. You can check backlinks and instances manually type link:yourdomain you will get backlinks and when you put "yourdoamin" in search box of google you will see instances.
Google recognises all backlinks, if you use webmaster tools you can see them all using that. They are more exclusive with which links they show in the link: search. Also you need to make sure that the blogs you are commenting on are do follow, and that you aren't just spamming.
Just to answer your question i think it usually can take up to a week but also just commenting on blogs need to have the follow attribute applied to the actual web address otherwise its a no follow and wont make much, if not any difference.
