How Long Before I Get A Page Rank?

    Hi Everyone,

I am new the whole SEO world, and hardly know much at all, I have created a site to sell seo software (seo elite, Ibp 9 and the likes) and have had a fair bit of success with my keywords on msn and google, im always trying to find new links and even gone to the expense of buying them in a hope to increase the sites popularity, My Alexa rating is ok for the age of the site. How long before i get a page rank? The site www.seosoftware-trial.com is only 1 month and maybe a week old. Is it to new to get a page rank or have i done something wrong with the content? Any ideas would be helpful.

wait for google to crawl ur site and cache it. so basically, wait for the sites that link to urs to be crawled and hopefully, it finds ur link and ur site. maybe around 1-2 weeks, depending on number of backlinks

Google has been and gone, and the last cache was on the 5th of april, which means that maybe my content is bad. I have gained some stronger links since then and started submitting to a few directories, is there any thing else i can do to improve the pr on my site.

google pagerank updates every 3 months so if you build links within these months you will surely have your PR the next update.

It may take a few months for you to get pagerank that shows on the google toolbar. That doesn't mean your site hasn't already got pagerank - it probably does.

It will take a few months from my experience. I have a few sites that have started ranking well but have still not acquired any page rank.

Google will crawl your pages and then it will get indexed and if you get good backlinks there after they will provide a pagerank

All this infomation is great and i will start doing these things straight away, how ever after reading quite a few articles on the sandbox effect, im pretty sure that im am stuck to play for quite a while, both yahoo and msn are picking up some 1500 backlinks each and have also started picking up another 20000, backlinks i should be receiving from advertising on a directory, how ever google have only have me down for 7 backlinks, which is pretty poor on their part further more i also links on sites that have really high pr7 -8 that it should have picked up now.

Unless you got a call from Larry Page (or anyone else from Sunnyvale), it's speculation.

Why is PR so important for you? It has nothing to do with how long you're going to be Sandboxed and has even less effect on your SERPs. Instead of spending the time worrying about why your PR hasn't increased, focus on building a quality resource for your visitors (unless your overall objective is to sell Text Links). PR will come eventually, if not this time then the next. But it really shouldn't matter as it's only a snapshot and not your actual PR at that exact point in time.

Excellent point. PR is such an obsolete concern in my opinion.

These days I view PR as a sort of membership card, as some sites/directories will only exchange links with high PR websites. Also, if you ever plan on selling your site someday for a reasonable price, once again, PR might come in handy.

Google updates the page rank on certain dates unknown to the general public. The pageranks will take a while to show up in your toolbar. This doesn't mean that they don't have a pagerank in google yet, just that google isn't going to show you what they are yet. They update the pageranks in the toolbar every few months. They should be updating it within the next month or so.

If you have quality backlinks in your site expect to get PR on your site.

Care about how yo get visitors, not PR. And by the way, PR updates all the time, but we dont see it.
