How long before Google introduces adsense in-content links?

I am talking about in-content links currently displayed by firms like Kontera, Infolinks, etc. If they do, it would be a nasty shock for Kontera and Infolinks and others. We all know adsense currently has link ads on top of regular text ads, but not in-content ones.

People currently with Kontera and Infolinks will simply switch over because adsense is bound to attract higher paying advertisers thus increasing publisher revenue.

I think this may well be something Google does this coming year (2009).

Hope not, they are monopolizing everything. Not good.

They might consider on it. If they implement this, publisher will be happy to have another choice

I believe it's one of the features that google's more than likely thinking about doing. It'll have a lot of faster loading than Kontera and all the other in-txt ad companies.

wouldn't that contradict their rules re making sure AdSense advert are distinguishable from site content/ordinary links?

Not really. When you mouseover the link, the fact that its an ad is clearly identified then (when the ad pops up). In fact, these look more like ads than adsense ads.

I agree with Jenna, that would go against their own TOS...

However, I have seen many adsense blocks on sites that do not disclose they are adsense, maybe they are moving away from full disclosure...
