How Long Before Getting Miffed?

    Hey, all!

I contracted with someone to write two articles. Two days after sending them all the keyword, article length, and topic info, I receive an email stating they were done, and asking for my email to send the Paypal invoice. They also stated they were sending me the articles for review at that time, but I did not receive them before giving payment.

They submitted paypal invoice, I paid it, and sent them an inquiry as to when could I receive my articles. I was out of town when I received the email and sent the payment, but have been constantly checking my emails, and after TWO DAYS, I have yet to receive what I paid for.

Now, my question to you is, how long before any reasonable person here on DP would get completely miffed and start demanding money back? I really don't want to threaten them with outing them on this board that they're rip off artists, as I don't know that they are (yet). I just think two days is long enough.

I just think if they sent me an email stating the articles were already completed, and I've paid, then why the *bleep* is it taking so damn long? It should be a simple matter of sending me a bloody email with an attachment.

    WTF?

    Thanks

Well, for starters a number of things could have happened. Their internet could have been screwed up, or some lame excuse like that. Two days is quite some time in the internet world. Sadly you probably won't get your money back regardless of what you do. Paypal doesn't cover digital goods. The most you would be able to do is give a warning to everyone here about this person.

Keep pestering and hopefully it turns out to be a misunderstanding on their part! Good luck.

I sent them a PM followed by an email giving them 12 hours to make good.

After that, I will post their name.

It's my own fault, really; I should have checked them out more thoroughly. They sent me samples, but they've only been on DP for a month, no iTrader (but I've been here almost two years with no iTrader; so can't complain about that) points. I should have been more diligent.

But, I do manage social media accounts for several people, and I have my own FB profile with 1550+ friends, another 'anonymous' profile with almost the full 5K friends, and fanpages, so it won't just be here that the word gets spread around....

    But thanks.

There are many scam artists in DP. Just becareful of these people. Just check their iTrader or just ask them to show their sample works/articles before make any payment to them.

    Just my two cents.

two days isn't that extreme, unless you specifically stated that you needed the articles completed by a certain date.

You should have at least made an agreement that 50% upfront payment would be given and nothing more than that.

As suggested, wait for some more time and do provide their identities for other members of DP.

That's not the point. The point is she paid because they said they were FINISHED.

Yep, no excuses. If they took the money they should have sent the articles straight after.

    UPDATE:

I did receive the articles yesterday (Friday).

By that time, however, I found another writer and had contracted with that person (who has not asked for prepayment) to write articles.

Thank heavens it was a small amount that I paid the other writer.

    anyway, have a nice weekend.
