They are doing website checks, so site quality is playing a part in those beta invites. I wouldn't advise eBay as a place to buy an invite
I mentioned this in a thread a while back and half-jokingly at that.. but in order to assure they are not just signing up all the people kicked out of adsense, having adsense on your site might not hurt.. I know the one I signed up with had adsense on it.. I am not saying this has any impact either way.. I am just saying if I were Yahoo.... someone with adsense ads at the very least has not been kicked out of adsense.
Never thought about Adsense being a help to getting into YPN. But, it makes sense. It took probably a month for my website to get accepted by Yahoo. Never thought Yahoo would be my best friend over Google. But, numbers don't lie.
I put that I currently used Adsense but I'd like to see how Yahoo compares to Adsense, in my comment section when I was filling the app.
As a business strategy taking away Google's publishers is not so bad either.. Lots of benefits to such a criteria for yahoo.. As long as the program delivers on some level.
I signed up a few weeks ago, also waiting. I too mentioned that I'm looking for an adsense alternative in the comments section. I read a thread once where people were talking about sending YPN to a page to improve the chances of being accepted, but I think the opposite is true. How many uniques visitors do you get a month, to those who have been accepted. I'm just under 10,000 (usually around 9) right now, I wonder if they have a cutoff?
I signed up 2-3 weeks ago, still waiting. unique visits per month fluctuates above and below 100,000. I would love to hear something one way or another so I could try the ads out on a page or two to see how they do.
I signed up about 3 or 4 weeks ago. And was accepted last week. I must say that I am rather impressed. And like mentioned in an earlier post in this thread "The numbers do not lie..." I also noticed, that after being accepted... Well, I placed the ads right away, but it would just come up blank, or a blue image. Took a day or two before the ads came. Don't know if it was just me, or seem the same with anyone else? -Eric
I was accepted recently after applying about a month ago. Funny thing is, my site is currently being penalized in their search results. I've been going back and forth with them about why and they just keep giving the same canned reply. I think it (the penalty) is related to some other sites scraping my content. Anyway, I found it entertaining that they would accept my site into the publisher network but not their search results. Hopefully I can get it all straightened out soon... Good luck getting accepted!
