How links can you get ?

    Hi,
    Currently I am working on a photo gallery. I took my steps for link development. My site is PR3 and I have some question to discuss about:

    I have heard that only 5 to 10 links should be placed on a site of other sites.
    How many links to other sites can I place on my site without doing any damage to SEO. Please help me out. Thank you.

    Well thats a difficult question. The key thing to remember is that you dont loose PR directly from having outgoing links however if you have hundreds of outgoing links Google could penalise you as they might see your site as a link farm or something along those lines.

    Having 10 links isnt a problem though. But if you can, make them work for you, make sure they are links to a related site AND GET A RECIPRICOL link back if you can. Google loves that!

    reciprocal links are better than outgoing links which don't give you anything :))

    Try to link somewere else not only on homepage .... mysite.com/about.html .... any you know what I mean

    one-way links is better than reciprocal link...link exchange with related, quality, and trusted sites...on outgoing links just limit it IMO for about 20-30 links...

    That sounds like a number... I'll try to limit the links to 20 .. Coz I have heard that more links can show Search Engines the link spamming and there are chances that they might ban it or give a little low ranking. :)

    outgoing links doesnt really hurt your link popularity as long as you have many links pointing to you and your site is well established. But if you are just starting i suggest a 5-10 outgoing links and just add more links as your link popularity grows.

    Thanx currently I have 8 links. All sitewide, so potentially I'll increase new links once I get crawled.. Still can I increase two more good links :D
