How large is the Google index without top 1000 sites?

I heard that Google has 16(?????) billion or more indexed pages

Getting rid of top 1000 sites from the index would significantly reduce Google's index isn't it?

    For example:

    nytimes.com has 2 million pages
    bbc.co.uk has 18 million pages
    youtube has 50 million pages

So a top 2000 sites would contribute a minimum of 2-4 billion pages and in addition to some top forums another 2-4 billion can be taken off

that means only 8 billion pages or less represents other sites???r

My question is why Search Engines are not indexing more pages from newer sites?? which may have a lot of information

Google has more than 30 billion websites in the index. Not just pages.
So your math is totally wrong :)

    You are totally wrong..

The no of domains registered itself is not more than 100 million!

then how it has 30 billion websites index? It may be 30 billion web pages... top 1000 sites may be having more than 10 billion pages in google's index

There used to be a thing on Google that you could do to get the number of how many pages they have, but I think they've limited it now. Basically you search for a term that returns no results (ie; eqwiruoyewi) then simply put a minus symbol at the beginning of it and it'll tell you how many there are. At the moment it only shows 239,000,000.
