I used to really hate Adsense. There were so many times I just wanted to give up on Google AdSense. In most part, it was due to my lack of patience. I'm not sure if these ever happen to anyone, but here is my experience with AdSense when I first started. 1. First, I found a Golden keyword, and I started to jump up and down over joy. 2. I continue to add content, and I'm thinking... oh man...I'm gonna be rich. 3. After waiting few weeks, Google is not even giving you a look. It's okay. I have this golden keyword. 4. After few more weeks later, finally Google gives you a wink. Giving me some hope... 5. I get excited and start adding some more content 6. After working on it for 4 ~ 6 months, finally I arrived on my destination. I am on 1st page Google. 7. I get excited and my expectation starts to climb higher. It's about to make some green. 8. After being on 1st page on Google, I have realized that I have banked on wrong keywords. 9. My 6 months of work goes down the drain. For me, it took me almost a year to figure out the basic foundation of AdSense and Niche websites. And I still don't get what Google is really thinking. This is because I am not a fast learner. Was it worth of putting my effort and time to learn how to build my own vending machine sites? Yes. For most part, this was the best self investment I have ever done. Why? Because I can multiply them. The Power of KnowledgeSomeone asked me an interesting question this week. "Is it really possible to survive and generate revenue with zero dollars? If I was left on the street with zero dollars, can I still make it happen? And what would I do to survive with zero dollars? " - Katherine I think this is when your knowledge starts to kick in. Here are some stuff I would do if I had zero dollars in my pocket. 1. First thing first - I would take care my cashflow at all cost Type: Big Fish (Non-residual) Cost: $0.00 Duration: 3 Months Project + Ongoing Maintenance Fee Expected Revenue: $30,000 (upfront) + $1,000/ month (maintenance fee) Since my knowledge and experience can cover business development, SEO consultation, raising capital funds, drawing large database structure, building video engines, and business acquisition, I would offer close the deal with X company with $30k per project. This would take care of me for couple of months. I would invest about 3 ~ 4 hours a day building infrastructure for the company. 2. I would build some AdSense and Affiliate Niche sites Type: Small Fish (Residual Income) Cost: $0.00 Duration: 3 Months Google Adsense: $1,500/ month Affiliate Earning: $8,000/ month While the first part is happening, I would jump right in to building niche AdSense sites. At the same time, I will structure another pipeline for multiple niche affiliate sites. 3. After that, I would partner with app developers and draw them an app infrastructure for iPhone and Android Cost: $0.00 (50/50 Partnership) Duration: 1 Month Expected Revenue: $300 ~ $650/ month So, these were the actual things that I have done in last 12 months. Exactly from top to bottom. After shutting down my previous business (due to the economy), I was literally left with zero dollars in my pocket. In fact, I couldn't even buy diapers for my kids. For those of you with kids will understand my point here. Not been able to provide diapers for your kids is the worst thing that could happen. I had to create a passive income to not rely on the next job or business. This was when I started to do something about my revenue pattern. Here is the first draft of my revenue method: Because I have gained some valuable knowledge during my previous business, I was able to plan and execute these out.
