Ok, I was visiting a video in Youtube. It was having a view count of 24,001 before I viewed it. I am pretty sure I have NEVER viewed the video ever in my life and this is the first time I am viewing it. But when I opened the video, it's view wasn't updated. It was just in 24,001. I thought just because I didn't log in and view, it didn't update. (I thought for a second that only registered member's views are take into consideration for views of a youtube video) So, I logged in. Again, it was just in 24,001. I am just wondering how long does it stays there in 24,001 views. How does youtube calculate the video visits? Why my view isn't calculated? Another thing: To clarify my doubt, I visited a video from the related video list and before my view, that video had 184,274 visits. But when I visited that video, it showed as if the video has 184,643 visits. How on earth is this possible? How does youtube video visits calculated?? I am just confused and I need to know this madly as I am depending on youtube for my site's traffic.
