    Hey,

The keyword phrase baby shoes is searched 17480 times by consumers (overture) and when typed into google shows 52,800,00 results. This keyword is fairly competitive but the website babyshoes.co.uk ranks fourth even thjough its landing page is an image, shows no meta tags/titles and no apparent backlinks?!

    HERE

It surely cant be due to the domain name but what else?

    I am baffled?!!

The domain name and the site age are the only 2 possible factors here.

Also, check the backlinks of the sites above and below the site in question. If their backlinks arent any better that could explain how it manages to compete.

For this case, domain name stands a large relevancy as the search is conducted in google.co.uk. The site can't be found in the first page if search in the google.com..

Its the domain name. Some people will disagree, but I think matching a domain name for an exact keyword in google definitely has some weight.

Here is another example...http://www.seophilippines.org/. Top 4 on google but no keyword...
This makes me sick sometimes... I don't know how these websites get on top while they don't even have a good meta tags... talking of link back... there are a lot of sites that have more links than this one with SEO-related keywords.
