How is this site ranked 4th with NO apparent SEO in a competitive keyword?!

    Hey,

    The keyword phrase baby shoes is searched 17480 times by consumers (overture) and when typed into google shows 52,800,00 results. This keyword is fairly competitive but the website babyshoes.co.uk ranks fourth even thjough its landing page is an image, shows no meta tags/titles and no apparent backlinks?!

    I am baffled?!!

    it has 70 backlinks. It could also be the keywords in the domain name.

    where are you getting 70 backlinks from?

    I didnt think google payed so high value to keywords in the domain name.

    This site has been around a while -- since March of 2001. If you look at the archives it has seen a few face lifts. Also, it's bound to rank well in Google for baby shoes since the only thing in the page title is "Baby Shoes". :)
