I am trying to get my site, StealthAuto.com ranked for the word Chrome Bulbs and have been looking at my competition.

I don't understand how this site gets #1 rank. I looked at th source code and don't even see the words chrome bulbs on the page, or in the meta data.

Can anyone explain this for me?

Take at look at their website... chrome bulbs is mentioned all over the place, in fact the second link on the navigation bar is Chrome Bulbs

Yes, I see that "Chrome Bulbs" is the second link on their site but it is an IMAGE, not text and there is no "Chrome Bulbs" text in the link or alt tags either. I also ran their site in backlinkwatch.com and there is NO mention of chrome bulbs.

i am stumped. More importantly, I want to get ranked for Chrome Bulbs for my site, http://www.stealthauto.com Any advice on doing so?

[EDITED - I just noticed that you snuck your link in as "chrome bulbs", and that's the page I was looking at.]

    I recommend the following...
    - move chrome bulbs closer to the beginning in your title tag. It that's your most important keyphrase, make it first.
    - shorten the title to 9 words or less
    - Put chrome bulbs in an H1 tag as high on the page as you passibly can
    - reduce the number of occurances of the phrase chrome bulbs on the page.
    - mix in more variations of the phrase
    - have an internal link on a page other than your homepage that points to your homepage with the anchor text 'chrom bulbs'
    - Get some backlinks (do follow with PR on relevent sites) with 'chrome bulbs' in the anchor text.
    - drastically reduce the total number of links on your homepage

Also, it looks like you're curretnly #10 for the search 'chrome bulbs'.
