hey, just wondering, let's say i want to sell paper online and i need a domain name that will be the best for search engine rankings. how is something like apaper.com or bpaper.com? (basically any letter followed by paper.com) and how does that compare with a longer domain like blahblahpaper.com? Would it make a difference with search engines? thanks.
I think search engine pretty smart enough to search through your keywords and hence apaper or bpaper, google will still be able to tell that your site has PAPER keyword inside. However for longer keywords, it is better coz usually visitors use Long keyword to search for something such as: paper plane, dollar paper etc... not just PAPER.
I would say that for a very high competitive keyword like paper, the impact from a keyword domain is minimal.. just grab a easy-to-remember domain and focus on on / off page optimization.
its much better to target your product keywords like for ex. "office paper" than targetting a very high competitive Keywords like "PAPER". i would suggest to focus your keywords on your products.
Yeah don't just slap a letter in front of the keyword, go with something more descriptive like - papersales.com or whatever,, put paper first and a descriptive word last. SE's can differentiate words even without hyphens,, and it doesn't matter if you have the keyword in your domain or not...
