How is the Islamic Arabesque done?

    I was wondering if anybody knows how r those done. Examples are as follows:

    You can make this easily using Adobe Illustrator.

    Let's say you draw it by hand first, scan it then import in Illustrator.

    After that it's only making lines and following your pre drawn work.

    Those designs look familiar to me. You can probably scan them, then use a vector graphics programme to trace it, do some touch-up and you are done. Or just do it from scratch.
