In few places I have read that Twitter and Several Social media websites can prove as able competitors for Google Search Engine. I am confused seeing them. What's the main idea behind it?
Honestly not a competition literally. People are talking about traffic. Traffic from Facebook, Twitter, Myspace can not convert the same way as Google traffic. Thats because people are really engaged with interface and capabilities of Facebook for example so they not click the ads. However, it is good Social Networks to be included in everybody strategy to build credibility
Well comparing for facebook and twiiter with Google they cannot compete it as google is a major search engine and social networking lacks far behind to search engines in terms of information. While looking just for traffic facebook may compete google in few years.
Can't say that the Social media sites are real competitors for Google. They are best only at providing real time results. That is the advantage of them over Google. Now Google too showing the latest results from those Social media sites. On the whole the social media sites are just real time search engines.
