Hi, I have signed up with SWREG and was to receive my payment on 15AUG. They said wire was sent but I never received payment. I complained after 7 working days and then JESSY said she will look into it. BUT I havent heard anything from them since then. How is the company? Does anyone use it witout problems? Can anyone please share experience? Thanks
Yes, I used them in the past, they seems to be quite reliable back then. I never had any issues with receiving my money via wire transfer. They were amongst the first payment processor around for shareware. Usually if the wire transfer is not received, it may indicate a problem at their bank or the details provided to them may not be accurate. What kind of payment method did you opt for ?
Bank Wire Transfer. The details I provided for transfer are fine and have been using them for years. Eddy, why did you leave them (as you are not using them now)?
Well, I left them because I did not want to use too many payment processors. I need to make over the minimum per processor or else I cannot withdraw my funds. I decided to just streamline to two. Since I was already using Regsoft and now that SWREG is under the same Digital River's wing, I don't see any point in keeping them. Regsoft launches my business and helped me from the beginning so I kept them instead of SWREG although SWREG were somewhat cheaper.
Well if they dont pay me, I always have the option of refunds/chargebacks. My clients are trustworthy and so I will give them refund and let them pay me from another processor. But that will be my last option as it is trouble for everyone.
I think the reason why it is alien to most of you is because SWReg.org is geared towards the shareware market and those who are involved in that business would have heard of them. They do not do anything beyond shareware sales. They were the oldest payment processor for the shareware market and existing since way back 1987.
Nabiha, If you are selling shareware you have signed up with a right company. If you are selling anything else you have done a mistake. But there is a problem with SWREG. They DO NOT have an affiliate network. And most affiliates on the shareware channel prefer REGNOW. I came to know from the same person (Jessy) through one of her emails. While SWREG does not have an affiliate network, REGNOW has a HUGE affiliate base and if your product is good you can be sure some of the leading ones will pick it up instantly. So if you are selling shareware or shareware related product you might consider selling through REGNOW. Send me a PM and I will hook you up with someone who can help with waiving off the joining fees if he finds your site appropriate.
I am selling shareware. So I am at the right place. But it is just that I am not getting my payments. I will look at REGNOW but their commission rate is way high at 8%
I will still recommend REGNOW for selling shareware products. And you get what you pay for. Be it customer support or be it remittance of deserved funds.
@hexadesigns: Yes I agree on that I guess. SWREG now dont even reply to my messages. It has been like this since last 6 days. They said they are looking into it and havent responded yet despite of my several queries. They dont even have curtesy to atleast reply and update.
Hi everyone, SWREG has just recently launched new SWREG customer service (http://cs.swreg.org/) and a SWREG FAQ page (http://faq.swreg.org/) that will answer any questions and concerns that you may have. In addition, we also have a 24 hour customer service center for a very quick response. We would be happy to field any inquires and do our best to assist with any of your needs. It will also be helpful to you if you have the original email address associated with your transaction to speed up the process. Thanks, John
In response to Nabiha’s original response, I wanted to offer additional outside resources for those interested in learning more about SWREG. I’ve had only positive experiences with SWREG, so I sought out their social media sites to follow their latest news updates. For instance, I became a fan of the SWREG Facebook Page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/SWREG/99734731538) and I began following them on Twitter (http://twitter.com/swreg_org). If you want to find out more about the company in general, including the products and services they offer, I recommend visiting the SWREG Wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swreg). I found it very helpful.
I have used Swreg. Same problem as you. I now use iVerified.com Not had any problems. Good fees at 5% also.
