I noticed someone on a forum... with a signature which basically was a php chat type thing they made on their site and made it an image that auto-updates...

    Here it is:

    Code (markup):
The chat which is located here:

How do they make the image auto-update? What do they use?

they could use a variety of things. without digging into it, you use the PHP GD functions to draw.

You can make a script on the server, for example, image.php, return HTTP headers that say, "I'm a JPG" -- then, you can use GD to draw and send JPG data.

Blacknite, I'm just stopping by to tell you that you're a retard.

If you had even bothered to look at the extension of the file, you might have noticed that it's a php file. Everytime you load the image, it is simply executing PHP code that will load the recent messages, and display them as image.

It's the simplest thing ever, I thought you spoke PHP and were so web and computer-savvy?
