I placed a title for my site as "Online Investing | Investing in Gold" Is that the right way to target two keyword phrases? Some use commas and some use "|", which is preferred by search engines? Now I need articles linking to my site with the same anchor text for those two keyword phrases. Is that right?
I think your title is correct and you can just go ahead with using this title. Yes you would need articles or links from other sites pointing to your site with these keywords as anchor text in order to provide you more weight in the search engines in order for your pages to appear on top in the SERPs. But once piece of advise here, while you request other pages to linkback to you don't use a single keyword as your anchor text.. tell them to link you with a variety of keywords as the anchor text, else search engines, especially google, is known for your site to weigh less if there is only one keyword in anchor text from different sites.
If you need article linking to anchor text then i suggest you to use "Investing in Gold is good online Investment".It is good to use readable anchor text. you are right if you are using two different link to each anchor text.
Besides the title you may want to consider adding Online Investing and Investing in Gold in the body of your articles, or link this term to your domain in your articles.
the sign in title doesnt matter. Aslong as the keywords are seperated form it. When mushed up the lower end SEs cannot tell its seperate and list for the one with the sign. The title is fine
May be you can modify it to online investing | Invest in gold instead of investing you'll have two words invest + investing (bonus) and you can always add some key phrases in the site description....
it's good heading and try to put it for a test. then change it if necessary or when you got a new keyword aim.
