I think you should change the heading "Sponsors" to "Sponsored Links" or "Advertisement" as google have quite strict guidelines in their terms and conditions about how ads should be labelled, if they must. Maybe the header should change to reflect the background and border of the half banner at the top of the page. I didn't notice it at all on first view, perhaps you should me it down and put a fake first row above the Recent threads box.
I think the blending is not complete. You should blend the background better. Furthermore it is usefull for forums to place ads between the first and second reply.
