Please take a look at my site and let me know how I'm doing with ad placement. If you click on an article, the ads are different than the home page. 6 popular posts also have a product ad from Ase Adnet inside the post itself (yes it complies with Adsense). What do you think? Also I know placing an adsense block inside the post and have the post wrap around it would be best, but with the way I have images posted it would mess everything up. Thanks for any advice.
Set the background of the ad to the left to match the light blue background of that section. I'd also put an ad between the first and second post on the main page, and another at the bottom. You should also incorporate a google link bar.
That left sidebar ad is my highest performing ad. Do you think making the background different than the post background will give me more clicks? I know it will fit in with the sidebar, but I've always kept it matched with the post background so it looks like it's connected to the post. I'd like to hear more opinions on this. If I can find a lightweight plugin to put ads only between two posts on the home page I'll do that. Currently the other ads are coded into the template to decrease database and processor use (they're static). Where do you think I should put the link bar?
Put the link bar above or below the Home/About/Advertise menu. Try to make it look like part of the menu itself. The blog stuff on the adsense site suggests that ads will perform better if they blend in with the surrounding area of the site, in this case, with the light blue sidebar.
