How is it that some Google news sites re-cache same news multiple times in a day?

Have noticed that certain sites that are caching in Google news are suing some method to re-cache the same news multiple times in a day. About 3 times in 24 hours. This does not include updates, as I know if you need to update an existing article, using Update: at the start of a title, an existing article in Google news will automatically be tweaked once updated content is uploaded. This then shows up as a much more recent post. For example: 5 minutes ago

However, there are news sites that seem to be able to boost the same article without uploading any new content, and sending it up in news search 2-3 times a day. Have also noticed this seems an automated function as most times multiple articles of the current day will re-cache all at once.

Any guidance or insight is appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.
