I have tried it and it works just fine on my computer!
I think it's not big difference in performance comparing to IE 7 anyway.

Their is indeed a lot of difference between IE8 and IE7,in IE8 one of the main feature that has been added is the private browsing mode which you are going to see in firefox 3.1 they have also increased the performance of IE 8,the memory usage is too less as compared to firefox and the main thing is stability, you won't find IE 8 getting hanged or any such thing,I would say that just give it a try

It is not even worth upgrading to a new version of IE... theres a better solution: FIREFOX ;)

IE7 already has a lot of security warning. I bet IE8 will be more.

IE8 beta have a big problem with Copy and Paste, everytime you try to Copy and Paste it will restart/crash the browser.

I tried it and uninstalled it. I hated it. I am sick of IE after sticking with them for years. I downloaded Chrome and love it. I like FF but it has been giving me a lot of errors since they upgraded to 3.05. I have had no freeze-ups with Chrome and it moves all passwords and favorites from IE with ease. It is also super quick.
