How is google wave useful?

I use Wave to communicate with group members in my team at work but not for anything else..

 

I hardly ever hear about Google Wave anymore... people were so excited initially.

 

i also want to know more about Google Wave.

 

It's just a full tool which needs to be more open to all of the social networks - they weren't late, they just need to focus on making it into a social media platform if they looked at it from the users point of view - are there any cool google wave APIs out there?
