depends on some other factors, but on average a PR4.

On average, yes, although depending on how that PR7 was attained and how many outgoing links are on the page, you could get it with just a single PR7. The chart assumes a median range of 50 links per page... however, with many link exchange pages these days, people way overload them, so if it's those types of pages where there are over 100 links on each page it might take significantly more.

Because sometimes it only takes 1 PR(x) link to result in a PR(x-1) page.

perhaps you should just focus on promoting your website, and leave google to do what google does

The formula has been around for years, TBPR is good in theory but is a seriously flawed model.

ofcourse quality of the page is very important..
if the you have link in is having 100 links then it is nearly useless..

    so it depends on:
    1. the back links of the page
    2. the content of the page ( no cloud sites, etc... )
    3. the number of links in the page you have link in

I am sure I am missing other points but that is the most important :)

    Right but not quite.

The first article detailing PR, is here (section 2): http://infolab.stanford.edu/~backrub/google.html

Its right in terms that it was what is used to determine page rank. Its not right because many more elements have been added into this formula since the creation of Google.

People have said that page rank is not everything and they are right. Many other factors (over 200~ search the forums/google for the info), which decide the eventual SERP's.

As for the formula on calculating PR, we wont know what it is exactly only 3 people (i believe) know the current exact formula. What changes could they have made? Additional changes could be, out going links(constant number of links) take more or less PR from the original page, which multiplying factor could be, depending on the total out going links. So a page with less out going links could be awarded more bonus points+the original PR. Pages that are "islands" may gain PR, for being under a domain that averages a high PR.

PR is also massively difficult to calculate for such volume. Espically with the recursive nature, 50+ times, not many companies can even dream of doing that.
