Hi Ive been thinking about movie all of our content (Videos, clips, download links) into our Godaddy Economy Shared Hosting. We have variety size of videos. From 20-30 mb to 1000-1500 mb's.. Running a paysite blog and currently serving videos from external download sources. But they are not member-friendly because of low speed's, unreliable, much-waiting's, deletings.. So, I have to move all of the videos into our own hosting. I have to say we dont have much more members, so the bandwidth usage will be so low. Only 2-3 users daily log on our site and I dont think this will be problem for bandwidth. But we would need storage - like 1000 GB-. It seems best hosting is shared unlimited for now, right? What do you think? What are your suggestions for me? I can't be move into VPS or Dedicated because of expensive rates. Also I dont think bandwidth would be a problem but storage for now. Only few users will be use because our site is membership-protected paysite. So, just 2 or 3 or less users daily logging into our site. So, how is Godaddy's Shared Hosting for Streaming/Downloading Videos for just few members usage? Note: Sorry about my weak english.
i have no experience with their hosting. But getting support from them was always hard or not possible for me unless phone. Their TOS: "All Web Hosting and WordPress Hosting plans, including the unlimited plans, are subject to a limit of no more than 250,000 inodes per account for Linux® hosting accounts" It means no more than 250 000 files and folders per one account (you may have multiple accounts?) I would try it and update here how it goes. Ofcourse backup your data so you do not end up being suspended without backup or such.
It would be max. 3000 videos files in the future so its below 250 000 files. I tried watching 40 mb clips via video player on our site and there is no problem...
