I just wanted to post this to see if anyone else is enjoying the phishing option we are given when checking our mail. I recently started clicking it, in an effort to cut down on thousands of junk mail messages I've got in my main email account. I didn't care before, but now I check my mail tons throughout the day, and need more relevancy. I think it works great. Literally hundreds of mailers have been taken out by this Phishing tool. I know it doesn't bode well for those with opt-in lists, or those who spam....but for a business mail account it is a blessing for sure. Maybe I'm getting too excited also, and junk mail is slow. Anyhow, opinions are invited.
That thing could have been there for a year for all I know. I didn't even notice until you pointed it out. I generally just send those unwanted to the junk box. If they send again they end up in the junk. Otherwise I add some filters to junk an entire domain if it's a problem. I don't know where it all comes from. I can't keep up with them all. I swear I get more junk mail in 1 hotmail box then all my other email addresses combined. Probably because I use it the most. I will try the phishing option next time I get one that is obviously phishing and see what happens.
Uh, GMail automatically junks that stuff and has done so for years. I've not seen junk in my accounts in just as many. As usual, Microsoft is years behind everyone else. Ya know, I sometimes completely forget Hotmail is still around. I'm surprised people still use it.
I have been already using Phishing option for almost more than 2 yrs as I got it with MSN Premium software
I think we have all realized Gmail rules for keeping junk out of the way. I wish I could transfer my subscriptions, and business details to gmail - but that would be so time consuming! The HM fishing tool works pretty well. As marketers we can all guess how this crap keeps ending up in our mail - Guy compiles list, sells it to another guy - who sells it to a hundred more. I don't begrudge these folks, even though I've lost many an important email, due to the minutia of sorting thousands of junkers. Targeted lists are so much more valuable in my mind. I just don't get some of these spammers! If any Microsoft developers are listening: Do as Google does! I love the phishing tool. While it lessens the junk, the junk still gets through. It does make an awesome difference though. At the very least, it eliminates the low tech spammers, who don't diversify like the smarter ones do.
